Summer Time Pleasures

August 8, 2010

The other day it just hit me; there are only two precious weeks of summer left before the fall semester starts. Which will mean daily trips to the office, teaching, and working on campus until dinner time. No more bike rides to the lake on a whim or reading in the park. No more feeling the sun on my skin as I leaf through my book or taking a quick break for a dip in the lake before returning to my laptop. I’m trying to make the most of these last two weeks although I know they will fly by (with house and work projects high on our and my to-do list). At least for one afternoon, I paused life just a little and enjoyed my office with a view.

    Beautiful!

I really miss the ebb and flow of the academic year. The only thing worse than having two weeks left until the end of the academic summer is having no summer at all. That thought alone is almost enough to make me want to go back for even more education. If only I didn’t have so much law school debt :)

I like the colour scheme here. The sky is a shade of “lazy, but thoughtful”.
