mother’s day {bike date} to the botanical garden

Bike Parking outside of the Botanical Garden Cycling at 28 weeks

Happy Mother’s Day!  ♥ For my first Mother’s Day (with baby still in utero as I’m in the third trimester now), T. and I rode our bikes to the local botanical garden. They were offering free admittance to mothers and I was thrilled to claim that perk :) We took advantage of the gorgeous weather, hopped on our bikes, rode to the garden, and then walked around enjoying the ‘big bugs’ exhibit on display right now. And we talked about how much fun we’re going to have with little C. once she’s born and she can join us on these outings in discovering nature and the world around her…

Finally, after much silliness, we headed to dinner at my favorite restaurant in town. The perfect end to the perfect first Mother’s Day. Thanks, T, for making my first Mother’s Day so special. I can’t wait to share many more with you and our little girl. ♥

This really does look like the perfect bike/mother’s day date. Those big bugs and the gnome just make me happy.

Kara – the bugs are part of the constantly changing exhibit, so they’re just here temporarily. But that gnome is awesome! It’s here all the time and it’s the largest concrete gnome in the world, at about 15 ft tall and 3,500 lbs. I don’t think they could get rid of it if they wanted to :)

How sweet, and next year you will bring baby S in a carrier somehow with you on your bike, or a jogging stroller! It looks like a perfect day!
